Introducing Brandon Dewar

Remember Slash from the Pittsburgh Steelers?

That’s right, Kordell Stewart, the dynamic do-everything quarterback from the mid-90s.  Stewart was so versatile, in fact, he could play quarterback/wide receiver/running back for multiple plays, often in the same game.

Thus, the nickname … Slash.

Well, there’s a new Slash in town.  His name is Brandon Dewar, and he’s the new IT technician and Windows System Administrator for the CranstonIT team.  But his title doesn’t tell quite the entire story, as Brandon will oversee client management of network issues/new user setups/OS upgrades/software issues/hardware issues/Windows servers/Windows desktops and … well, you can see where we’re going here.

“I guess I really am a jack-of-all-trades,” laughed Brandon.  “I’ve dabbled in many different areas because I enjoy learning about all IT domains, and I really enjoy looking at the big picture and solving the more complex issues.”

Brandon joined CranstonIT in October.  He came to us from PureRED, a national marketing communications company with local offices in North Huntingdon.  At PureRED, Brandon managed Pittsburgh-area Mac® installations, Windows servers, Linux servers, storage devices and more.  And prior to that, he was a project manager solving end-user issues for EDMC in Pittsburgh.

Brandon’s tech qualifications are unmatched, with more licenses, certifications and alphabet specializations across multiple platforms that require far too many slashes to list here.  Let’s just agree he’s the perfect match for a customer-centric company like CranstonIT.

“And that’s why I’m here,” Brandon explained.  “This is a great company with a fantastic team that cares deeply about client needs and budgets.  I’ve always enjoyed working with people and addressing their needs, and especially helping them use their technology in more productive ways.”

Brandon lives in Bethel Park with his wife and three young children.  He enjoys an active life with his family by traveling, exploring, biking, gaming and landing on the Florida beaches as often as possible.  “My happy place,” he admitted.  “My calm, relaxing, peaceful happy place.”

Get to know Slash when he visits your happy place.  You will marvel at his self-discipline, his excellent problem-solving skills and, most of all, his attention to even the most imperceptible details that might be compromising your IT environment.
